<p>Part of the Tbilisi Mural Fest</p><p>The mural represents the change of stage of a society, the transition from a darker past to a brighter future with the new generations as protagonists and taking control. Support and teamwork to reach change. Changing the bulb is a metaphor of replacing, modifying, evolving into something better and brighter.&nbsp;<br><br>Georgia is a fighting country with a past marked by many armed conflicts. Self-defense or self-protection and the hability to maintain and preserve their own identity and tradition over the years are qualities worth taking into account when understanding the history and present of this territory. We want our mural to also refer to this capacity on the part of the population, for staying afloat despite difficulties , overcoming darkness through teamwork, support and community cohesion when it comes to defending themselves and overcoming adversities.&nbsp;</p>

"Changing the light bulb"

<div>&nbsp;C’est la belle surprise de cette 6ème édition du festival Street Art. Une nouvelle œuvre a surgit rue de la barrière Saint-Michel. Signée Wedo, elle représente un bel hommage aux street-artistes qui vous invitent à leur emboiter le pas.</div><div>Ces deux bottes couvertes de peinture sont apparues en moins de temps qu’il ne faut pour l’écrire. Le genre de pulsion artistique dont sont friands les muralistes. Alors quand l’opportunité s’est présentée, Wedo n’a pas hésité. « En discutant avec l’équipe du festival, l’idée m’est tout de suite apparue très claire » explique l’artiste espagnol. « J’ai réfléchi une soirée et proposé cette œuvre qui est pour moi un hommage aux street artistes. »</div><div>Second de Slim Safont, Wedo a mis son art au service de son compère espagnol pendant plus de deux semaines pour réaliser une œuvre unique sur un immense mur rue Maryse Bastié. Assistant sur cette fresque, Wedo n’en est pas moins un artiste à part entière. Il a déjà réalisé de nombreux murs qui sont essentiellement visibles en Espagne dans des villes comme Salamanque. « Habituellement, j’aime apporter mon regard sur la vie avec une pointe de critique sociale » confie-t-il casquette sur la tête et éternelle grand sourire aux lèvres. « Cette fois-ci, j’ai voulu me concentrer sur la vie des artistes. Les gens nous voient couverts de peinture devant notre mur en train de créer et cela leur paraît tout à fait normal. Par contre, dès que l’on s’éloigne d’une fresque, ces mêmes habits apparaissent tout de suite très bizarres. Les gens nous dévisagent avec surprise et interrogation. Nous avons alors l’impression d’être un peu des extra-terrestres. C’est assez amusant. Pour nous, ces tâches de peinture sont une partie de notre propre peau. »</div><div>Et puis, il y a bien sûr la symbolique du pied. « Les pieds c’est ce qui nous accroche au sol, nous ramène à la terre » poursuit l’artiste. « Ils sont notre appui indispensable. C’est aussi de là que part l’impulsion, l’élan qui nous permet de créer. So when the opportunity presented itself, Wedo didn’t hesitate. “When talking with the festival team, the idea immediately became very clear to me,” explains the Spanish artist. “I thought for an evening and proposed this work which is, for me, a tribute to street artists. »<br>Second to Slim Safont, Wedo put his art at the service of his Spanish friend for more than two weeks to create a unique work on a huge wall on rue Maryse Bastié. Assistant on this fresco, Wedo is no less an artist in his own right. He has already created numerous walls which are mainly visible in Spain in cities like Salamanca. “Usually, I like to bring my outlook on life with a touch of social criticism,” he confides with his hat on his head and an eternal big smile on his lips. “This time, I wanted to focus on the lives of artists. People see us covered in paint in front of our wall creating and it seems completely normal to them. On the other hand, as soon as we move away from a fresco, these same clothes immediately appear very strange. People stare at us with surprise and questions. We then have the impression of being a bit like extra-terrestrials. It's quite fun. For us, these paint stains are a part of our own skin. »<br>And then, of course, there is the symbolism of the foot. “The feet are what hold us to the ground, bring us back to the earth” continues the artist. “They are our essential support. This is also where the impulse comes from, the momentum that allows us to create. They are essential to our balance. »</div>

<div>&nbsp;Between October and November 2022, Barcelona based artistic center <a href="https://www.bmurals.com/">B-Murals</a> curated and produced <a href="https://osonaturisme.cat/artimur/">Osona Artimur Festival</a>, a never been done initiative of the <a href="https://osonaturisme.cat/en/">Department of Tourism</a> of <a href="https://goo.gl/maps/bLkvpphbNqYvD8Kr7">Osona</a> (an idyllic region up north BCN full of rivers, mountains and beautiful landscapes), in collaboration with the Catalan company <a href="https://www.transit.es/">Transit Projectes</a>.</div><div><br></div><div>19 well renowned artists from the international muralism scene, the Spanish contemporary art world and some local guns selected through open calls and participatory processes, intervened the streets and the public space of 5 different villages - <strong>Prats de Lluçanès</strong>, <strong>Manlleu</strong>, <strong>Sant Julià de Vilatorta</strong>, <strong>Sant Bartomeu del Grau</strong> and <strong>Alpens</strong> -, supported by an extensive production team which included assistants, runners, photographers and filmers.<br>More info on https://osonaturisme.cat/artimur/ <br><br> Within the framework of the Osona Art i Mur festival, Prats de Lluçanès decided to launch an open call for 3 Catalan artists or artists based in Catalonia. A call with the aim of providing opportunities for local talent in an international curatorial festival.<br><br>Wedo Goas has been part of the open call selection with his mural "El Hacha".<br>The mural proposal is rooted in local traditions and has been made thanks to a photographic portrait taken by the artist upon his arrival in Prats.<br>"Every June 23, in Prats de Lluçanès, the traditional torchlight march ends in the square where the mural is located, with them the neighbors set fire to the bonfire of San Juan and then dance around it<br>Contrapàs.” <br>-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br> En el marco del festival Osona Art i Mur, Prats de Lluçanès apostó por lanzar una convocatoria abierta para 3 artistas catalanes o afincados en Cataluña. <p>The feeling of longing came to life on the wall of Río Miño Street with the work in progress of the Ponté Edgar Goás <em>Wedo</em> . <strong>The muralist sought to reconcile his <em>punk</em> style with the paintings of Czech artist Alfons Mucha</strong> , recognized for capturing the female figure in a delicate way. The painter made use of natural ornaments, an element that Wedo takes to give a touch of homesickness, love for the land and the curves of nature in his new mural.</p>

Mural made in Mario Garbuglia's hometown, Civitanova Marche, Italy.<br>Thanks to Daniela Garbuglia for the help and sympathy and to <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="x1i10hfl xjbqb8w x6umtig x1b1mbwd xaqea5y xav7gou x9f619 x1ypdohk xt0psk2 xe8uvvx xdj266r x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r xexx8yu x4uap5 x18d9i69 xkhd6sd x16tdsg8 x1hl2dhg xggy1nq x1a2a7pz notranslate _a6hd" href="https://www.instagram.com/animedstrada/">@animedstrada</a> for making it possible.<br><br>The following text was written by Daniela.<br><br>It.<br><br>"L’idea che diventa realtà o la trasforma, questo è quello che accomuna Mario Garbuglia, scenografo, tra i protagonisti del cinema italiano e internazionale del novecento e Wedo Goas il giovane street artist spagnolo, autore di bellissimi murales: vere e proprie scenografie urbane.<br>La capacità di una visione insieme alla dirompente creatività e alla gentilezza nel relazionarsi con le persone, ha reso naturale e gioiosa la realizzazione di un’opera monumentale come il murales di Fontespina, in piena sinergia tra le istituzioni e le preziose realtà che operano per diffondere la cultura sul territorio.<br>Wedo dopo aver analizzato decine di fotografie ha scelto una piccola polaroid del 1969, ha letto in essa il racconto di un momento di pausa su un set cinematografico e con le sue pennellate variopinte ha colto, captandola nello sguardo, la storia di un uomo e la passione per la sua professione di scenografo.<br>La troupe si trovava a Uzgorod da due anni per le riprese del film Waterloo; la scenografia particolarmente impegnativa, la più grande mai realizzata , prevedendo la ricostruzione dell’intero territorio in cui si svolse la fatale battaglia napoleonica con strade, case, castelli, foreste e piantagioni valse allo scenografo il prestigioso premio della Academy Film inglese e anche una laurea honoris causa dalla facoltà di Agraria.</p>

<p>This mural represents a metaphor for how, from a young age, we learn to overcome the adversities that stand before us to keep standing. Through the innocence of a child, simply playing to jump from stone to stone and not fall into the water, the artists see in the scene a poetic reading about confronting difficulties in life.</p><p>The photograph that has been painted was taken by the artists in the south of Portugal while a child played on the beach. This is interesting because the painters wanted to relate the light in the scene to the light that might exist in the summer in the maritime area of Fuengirola, thus visually and aesthetically connecting their pictorial representation with the landscape and the southern territory.<br><br>Este mural representa una metáfora de cómo desde jóvenes aprendemos a sobrepasar las adversidades que se nos presentan delante para mantenernos en pie. A través de la inocencia de un niño, que simplemente jugaba a saltar de piedra en piedra y no caerse al agua, los artistas ven en la escena una lectura poética en torno a la idea de confrontar las dificultades en la vida.<br>La fotografía que se ha pintado fue tomada por los artistas en el sur de Portugal mientras un niño jugaba en la playa. Esto es interesante porque los pintores querían poner en relación la luz de la escena con la luz que pueda haber en verano en la zona marítima de Fuengirola y de esta manera relacionar visual y estéticamente su representación pictórica con el paisaje y el territorio sureño.</p>

He also studied engraving and illustration in the art schools of Ramón Falcón in Lugo, Spain, and Pablo Picasso in A Corua, Spain. Since 2019, the Poblenou Urban District in Barcelona has represented the artist. He has taken part in various national and international Urban Art Festivals. His realistic approach blends impressionism and modern painting in a large format, providing a theme that aims to highlight current social problems.&nbsp;</div>
