Serge Kb

Serge Kortenbroek is a self-taught artist who lives in Delft and works under the alias of Serge Kb. He draws and paints surreal creatures, animals, cyborgs and androids. On diverse surfaces – canvas and paper, but also walls and found objects – he creates grim scenes with a twist. By experimententing with different materials and topics, Serge’s style is developing continuously. His works are often inspired by nature and its weird and beautiful creatures, regularly pimped with analog elements. His interest in the abandoned and decayed can be seen throughout his work with pieces painted on old rusty metal or damaged wooden plates, often found in abandoned and forgotten buildings. This doorpainting is one of a duo Serge painted in de Vlouw in his hometown Delft.

Country Manager

This mural is one of six wallpaintings on a big wall (38 meter x 6,8 meters) at the backside of sports complex Squash Delft .&nbsp; Micha de Bie, who is always looking out for spots to paint, made an appointment with the owner Sammie and told him about his idea of making 6 &nbsp;big murals (size 6,8 x 6,6 meters) at the backside of the building. Sammie liked the idea, so Micha invited a range of different in style artists to paint a mural. Everyone could make whatever they liked. First time painting almost entirely with brushes and latex, trying to mimic that violet/purple gloss. I saw one of these black bees on vacation in France this summer and they are beautiful creatures".==========Deze muurschildering is een van de zes muurschilderingen op een grote muur (38 meter x 6,8 meter) aan de achterkant van sportcomplex Squash Delft. Micha de Bie, die altijd op zoek is naar plekken om te schilderen, maakte een afspraak met eigenaar Sammie en vertelde hem over zijn idee om 6 grote muurschilderingen (afmeting 6,8 x 6,6 meter) te maken aan de achterkant van het gebouw. Sammie vond het een goed idee, dus nodigde Micha verschillende kunstenaars uit om een muurschildering te maken. Iedereen mocht maken wat hij of zij leuk vond. Sammie gaf ze allemaal cart Blanche.Over Serge Kortenbroek: Serge Kortenbroek is een autodidactisch kunstenaar die in Delft woont en werkt onder het pseudoniem Serge Kb. Hij tekent en schildert surreële wezens, dieren, cyborgs en androïden. Op diverse ondergronden - canvas en papier, maar ook muren en gevonden voorwerpen - creëert hij grimmige taferelen met een twist. Door te experimenteren met verschillende materialen en onderwerpen ontwikkelt Serge's stijl zich voortdurend. Zijn werken zijn vaak geïnspireerd door de natuur en haar vreemde en mooie wezens, regelmatig gepimpt met analoge elementen. Zijn interesse in het verlaten en vervallene is terug te zien in zijn werk met werken geschilderd op oud roestig metaal of beschadigde houten platen, vaak gevonden in verlaten en vergeten gebouwen.Serge Kortenbroek op 13 oktober 2023 over (t)zijn muur: “Een paar weken geleden heb ik deze Carpenter Bee (xyocopa violacia) afgewerkt op een muur van 6x6m. De eerste keer dat ik bijna volledig met kwasten en latex schilderde, in een poging om die violet/paarse glans na te bootsen. Ik zag een van deze zwarte bijen op vakantie in Frankrijk deze zomer en het zijn prachtige beestjes”.

Under the name Iconoclash an x amount of murals got produced in and around the centre of Dordrecht.
