New mural has been created in Āgenskalns, at Nometņu Street 18 – a joint project of artist and Āgenskalns resident Ēriks Caune and local people. The painting depicts iconic Āgenskalns buildings and a local celebrity – the red cat Persiks, who also carefully supervised the artist’s work during the painting process. Locals have already affectionately nicknamed the mural “Murrrālis”. The new mural depicts several recognizable places in Āgenskalns – the Alīses Street water tower, the old television tower, the former “Sarkanā ausma” cinema and Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church. In the background, the “new Āgenskalns” can be seen – the Sun Stone, the Philosophers’ Residence and the Zunda Towers. Everything is surrounded by the greenery characteristic of Āgenskalns, while the local “host” – the red cat Persiks – stands out in the foreground. The author of the mural’s idea is Gatis Zamurs, a resident of the house at Nometņu Street 18. He financed the project from his own funds, wanting to give the neighborhood a new visual look.

On the Čiekurkalna 1. līnija, the walls of the building of the furniture salon "Kate" are now decorated with a mural depicting 2 women from Ukraine and Latvia hugging each other. This is one of several symbols of solidarity that have emerged in support of the Ukrainian people following the brutal Russian invasion and war in their country. The author of the idea is the team from furniture salon "Kate". The illustration of the work was created by Beatrise Bīriņa, but it was turned into reality by Dainis Rudens and Ēriks Caune.

Sometimes it feels like the pace, noise, and dynamism of life dictate our pulse and wellbeing far too much. And often, not in the most positive direction. In the everyday maximalism and the seemingly pointless rush, we lose something so vitally important to both body and mind: peace. Of course, this mural doesn’t solve any of that, but it does offer a small contrast to it. Is there a more peaceful moment than our children still sleeping? At least for me, it inspires optimism about the future, giving me hope and strength! I wish you all warmth, safety, dreams, and peace!

In one of the districts of Riga - Čiekurkalns - an open-air "exhibition hall" is open for visitors all year round. Under the bridge, on the transmission pillars, various works of street art have been created by Latvian and Lithuanian artists: Ēriks Caune, Īdzība, Koostii, Lazy Bra, Rombo, Trafik, Tron, Anna Vaivere, Zahars Ze, Ziepe Ziepe, Mārtiņš Zutis. Playing in the sun and shade, the graffiti there takes hide and seek on the next level - it encourages you to take a part in this game and urges you to go on an expedition, discovering all that this open-air gallery has to offer.

The mural depicts the ancient Greek mythological figure Atlas balancing a stack of forms and shapes with a resting man on top. I symbolises the messy appearence of the order of the world, while it is stable in the view of the carrier.

Countless times after a get-together or celebratory dinner I’ve though or heard phrases such as: “It was so good!” “We should get together more often!” “Let’s repeat soon?” This feeling and moment is like a signature for successful dinner, almost like it’s highest accolade. This mural offers a tiny fragment from exactly this familiar, simple and understandable household genre. And where if not in marketplace this painting should be nested?
