About the artist
Martin Bender is a highly acclaimed contemporary German urban and street artist who is a central figure in the Hagen open-air art scene. Born in 1986, he is widely recognized for his large-scale, hyper-realistic public portrait murals. : Born in the former Soviet Union, Bender attended a state art school in Kazakhstan at age ten, mastering classic painting techniques. : After his family immigrated to Germany in 1999, he discovered traditional graffiti culture, which inspired him to transition his craft onto public walls. He later graduated from the Gestalter Schule am Kothen in Wuppertal, specializing in color technology and spatial design. He launched his career as a freelance artist in 2008.
