<div>This giant mural underbridge made by Herakut is really breathtaking. It tells us a part of the history from Erkner, a Berlin suburb. You can reach it by suburban railway, best time for a calm trip to amazing nature around Erkner is summer.</div>

<p>Hera created this mural at IGS School in Wiesbaden. Art students at the age of 13-16 joined Hera painting this nice mural. Hera beliefs in empowering people, creathing there surroundings and neighbourhoods.</p>

Diffrent, diffrent but same

AND THE WALLS CAME TO LIFE."</p><p>It is precisely these words that HERA von HERAKUT immortalized in metre-high letters across several floors on a firewall in Aschaffenburg's Erlenmeyerstrasse at the beginning of July.</p><p>She not only tells us about the origins of her own artistic work, but also makes it immediately clear what URBAN ART is actually about: a wall is not simply "colorfully painted", but filled with life.</p>

...and the walls came to life.

<p>Hera maakte ooit deel uit van het iconische duo Herakut, dat uitblonk in sprookjesachtige taferelen met kinderen en dieren, vaak vergezeld van een opvallende boodschap. De Duitse kunstenares is sindsdien alleen verder gegaan op deze weg. Dat blijkt uit dit werk, waarin een meisje met een vossenhoodie ronddwaalt in een opvallende souvenirwinkel – allemaal duidelijke verwijzingen naar het leven en werk van Ensor. Ook opvallend: ondanks haar verder vrij figuratieve benadering schildert Hera de ogen van haar protagonisten altijd realistisch, zodat het lijkt alsof ze je met een doordringende blik aankijken.</p><p>________________________________________________________________________________________</p><p>Hera was once part of the iconic duo Herakut, which excelled in fairy tale scenes with children and animals interspersing – often accompanied by a striking message. The German artist has since continued on this path alone. As demonstrated by this work, in which a girl wearing a fox hoodie wanders around a most striking souvenir shop – all clear references to Ensor’s life and work. Also striking: notwithstanding her otherwise rather figurative approach, Hera always paints the eyes of her protagonists realistically, so it looks like they are watching you with a piercing gaze.</p>

<p>"You are my Home - no matter where we go"<br>This touching artwork, which features a girl gazing into the distance alongside her brother and their animal companions, directly faces an elementary school playground.<br>The mural's central theme of chosen family and safety is deeply rooted in the concept that "home" is about the people you trust and travel through life with, rather than just a specific piece of land.<br>The project was initiated by Josephine Cee NB: Best to be seen from Baumannstrasse.</p>

<p>The artwork addresses the visibility of people and aims to tell a story that enriches the cityscape. Hera often uses her art to draw attention to social injustice or to give a voice to people who frequently feel “small.”</p><p>The mural was created on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Stadtbau Aschaffenburg, which provided the façade of a 1950s residential building on Ulmenstraße for the project.</p>

Will I need a visa?

<p>The mural was created by the well-known street artist Hera (Jasmin Siddiqui), who was globally recognized as part of the duo Herakut. It was painted in June 2026 for the Fest Art Trenčín 2026 festival on the facade of a residential building in the Sídlisko Juh neighborhood (Vnútroblok Halalovka) in Trenčín, Slovakia. The artwork displays Hera's signature emotional and poetic style, featuring a young girl closely embraced by protective animals. The imagery is accompanied by a handwritten message in both English and Slovak: "Moje bezpečné miesto je s tebou" ("You are my safe place").</p>

<div>Ocean folklore has always been abundant in coastal communities, with none more prevalent than the mermaid. It is thought that one possible mermaid origin could be the Dugong from China, which as of September 2022 was declared extinct. Some mermaids are portrayed as sirens and tempests of the deep blue, but what if they were tirelessly untangling corals of ghost nets left by deep sea trawlers?</div><div><br>If our oceans are to stand a chance of surviving the next chapter of human life, creating folkloric tales for future generations, we must act as ambassadors for change. British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) are doing exactly that. Every year, BDMLR trains over 1000 volunteer Marine Mammal Medics, and has 20 whale rescue pontoons located at strategic points throughout the UK, waiting to help stranded whales and dolphins. Medics are trained to provide them with the basic knowledge, skills and expertise to enable volunteer teams to respond to a callout and act on behalf of that animal’s best welfare interests.</div><div><br>Mermaids might be considered fictional characters, but the challenges of cleaning up our oceans and protecting what life is left is a profound reality, and an increasingly pressing issue. <p>The artist about her artwork: “Upon arriving in the medieval city of Laon, France, I was so intimidated by its beauty, in particular its stunning cathedral, that I could not think of a motif to paint in this prestigious neighborhood. I struggled to feel worthy of adding a single thing. All shapes &amp; form had already been done, all stories told. UNTIL, the moment when I noticed a stray cat looking straight at me with the most unimpressed facial expression possible, wordlessly commenting on my restlessness while she was lazily laying on a column above me. This feline’s face seemed to say "pathetic! comparing your worthiness to anyone else’s. silly humans.“ Man! That cat’s confidence! It shook off what had blocked me from painting &amp; working with my hands instead of my brain. It pushed my out of the intellectual imprisonment into the present. So, that’s what I painted. I shared the story of me finding inspiration in a living being that would never ever question its self-worth and its right to be part of this city. This collaborative mural brings together the unique visual styles of several internationally renowned street artists, each contributing their own distinctive character to a shared composition. The artwork features a surreal collection of fantastical creatures, including a multi-eyed cat, an expressive fish, a fox, a bird, a mysterious female figure, and a blue dog. Although each section reflects the individual artist's style, the figures flow seamlessly into one another, creating a vibrant and imaginative mural.
The artwork was created as part of the Maisel & Friends Urban Art Project in Bayreuth, which has transformed the former brewery site into one of Germany's largest open-air urban art galleries. The collaborative mural celebrates creativity, artistic exchange, and the diversity of contemporary street art, showcasing how different artistic voices can come together to form a single, harmonious work of art.

The 38-meter-high chimney is one of the most striking landmarks of the Maisel & Friends Urban Art Gallery in Bayreuth. During the Urban Art Days 2024, six internationally renowned street artists transformed the historic brick chimney into a collaborative mural. Each artist created their own section, combining colorful portraits, surreal characters, abstract patterns, and symbolic imagery into one continuous vertical artwork.

The project celebrates artistic collaboration and highlights the diversity of contemporary urban art. By preserving the industrial character of the former brewery while covering it with vibrant murals, the chimney has become a unique landmark and a symbol of the site's transformation into one of Germany's largest open-air urban art galleries.

<p>“This piece I created was absolute freestyle with no preparation other than taking my scissor lift up as far as it went to see what lays beyond the city, and let Belfast’s surrounding nature be the inspiration. I wanted to reach into a history of the place that was more ancient than the man-made walls and trenches. I wanted to remind people of something that once unified everything under its blanket of green, and that will reclaim the place one day in the future. Nature. She will outlive us all, as she is the one true owner of all places. Her crown, in my depiction, is not made of gold or metal but instead of the Wild Heather that grows on the hillsides. “I WISHED I WAS MORE LIKE NATURE. (Emerson has no relation to Belfast - I just like him.) This was my second time in the city and I wanted to leave it with something whimsical, something out of a fairy tale world. It’s those stories of fairies, elves, giants and other mythical creatures and deities which to me, an outsider, is the light-hearted bit I associate with the Emerald Isle. The opposite bit, the somber part, are, of course, The Troubles. And those were on the forefront of my mind during my very first visit to Belfast back in 1999. It was my last year of high school Northern Ireland‘s politics had been the focus of my school trip.
