Marcus Debie, better known as GOMAD, is a Dutch muralist and visual storyteller who turns ordinary walls into portals of wonder. Raised in the Netherlands, Marcus built his craft on the street — one spray can at a time — layering realism with raw emotion and unexpected color shifts. Nature, urban grit and human connection collide in his murals: birds, flowers, figures alive enough to step off the wall. He prefers and works mainly with spray paint, but often combines it with hand-painted backgrounds in wall paint — nevertheless he can execute entire murals with brushes alone, bringing the same level of detail and realism as in his oil paintings and spray painted murals. Every piece is an experiment in control and freedom, precision and chaos. For Marcus, a mural is never just paint on bricks — it’s a conversation with a neighborhood. He believes public art should break routine, spark curiosity and bring people together. With roots in European street art culture, he aims to bring that fearless, rebellious spirit to every city — adding a burst of color and a spark of wonder to every festival. Process & Materials: Freehand spray paint, layered gradients, transparent tones, sharp contrasts. VR sketches or hand-drawn grids guide the flow — but the wall always has the final say. Why he paints: To remind people that magic still hides in plain sight — if you dare to look up. Tagline: Walls don’t stand a chance.
