<p>Arkane est un artiste pluridisciplinaire originaire d’Avignon qui vit à Montpellier. Quel que soit le domaine, sa finalité reste la même : obtenir une image. Narration subtile et parfois décousue, lumière et cadrage sont mis au service d’un travail charnel autour de l’exploration des sensations.<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;La rue de Bertaimont située dans le Quartier de Messine possède un folklore historique et riche. Et ce sont les Géants de Messines qui ont inspiré ArKane. Et si les géants de Messines devenaient de vraies personnes.</p><p>---------------------------------------------------------------</p><p>Arkane is a multidisciplinary artist from Avignon who lives in Montpellier. Whatever his field, his aim remains the same: to produce an image. Subtle and sometimes disjointed narration, lighting and framing are all used to create a carnal exploration of sensations.</p><p>Rue de Bertaimont in the Messina district has a rich and historic folklore. And it was the Giants of Messines that inspired ArKane. What if the giants of Messines became real people.</p>

<div>This is one of 5 wine silos painted by local street artists for the Cooperative of Nissan Lez Enserune. This is such a fantastic idea, quite similar to the Silo Art Trail in Australia. Arkane is such a wonderful big portrait artist.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Extraxted from the company’s website: “Nissan-Lez Ensérune cellar got a facelift last year and is now positioned as a flagship site for wine tourism.&nbsp; Vignerons Pays d´Ensérune has decided to go further and make its place an original and atypical place.&nbsp; So, in partnership with the Line Up association in Montpellier, they set up this crazy project to repaint 5 wine vats 8 meters high by 5 street artists from the region.</div><div>This collaboration has many objectives: beautifying the site, increasing the visibility of the site from the road, giving a modern image of the cooperative, attracting a new, younger clientele and, ultimately, being part of a tourist circuit on the street art in cooperatives.”</div>

<div>Dévoiler, cacher: beautiful woman's portrait by Arkane &amp; Clara Langelez in the Shopping Mall of <a href="https://www.instagram.com/polygone_montpellier/">@polygone_montpellier</a>.<br>From Arkane's instagram post:<br>Several weeks of work to do this of 10 meters high portrait in 5 layers of dibond, floating in the Polygone's sky.<br>The female figure and the plant world are at the heart of the work, with the challenge of creating an installation at the scale of the place and an evolutionary experience on three levels. Each element has its own singularity; they talk with each other, seek and confront each other to reveal the main figure at the last level. This sculptural puzzle offers a colorful breath whose double reading of the unfinished face questions the identity of everyone who has been struggling fora while now.<br>Thanks to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/parallele.design/">@parallele.design</a> for the technical aspect, project coordinated by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/lineup_urbanart/">@lineup_urbanart</a> 🔥</div>

<p>Habitée par le féminisme, l’œuvre d’Arnaud De Jesus Gonçalves nous plonge dans une atmosphère de mystère, digne des romans noirs ou des films policiers US. L’influence du 7ème art et de sa pratique de la photographie s’impose dans le choix de ses cadrages, de ses lumières de ses mises en scène suggestives, pour nous offrir une peinture à la fois subversive, vulnérable et douce… Une touche délicate, héritage de la peinture préraphaélite, un dynamisme emprunté aux impressionnistes ; le répertoire d'Arnaud De Jesus Gonçalves puise son inspiration dans le travail de ses prédécesseurs du XIX siècle. Actif sur les murs des villes comme en atelier, il déploie aujourd’hui son univers unique en Europe, aux États-Unis jusqu'au Mexique, mais reste attaché à Montpellier où il vit et travaille depuis maintenant douze ans.<br><br><strong>Thématique :</strong><br>" En cette douce fin d'après-midi de septembre 1944, alors que la lumière dorée baignait les rues de Mons, un rugissement métallique retentit au loin. À son bord, un soldat américain le visage couvert de poussière mais sourire triomphant, venait de libérer la ville des dernières forces ennemies. Deux enfants se joignirent à lui ans une atmosphère de paix retrouvée et de promesse d'un avenir meilleur."</p><p>-----------------------------------------------------------</p><p>Inhabited by feminism, the work of Arnaud De Jesus Gonçalves plunges us into an atmosphere of mystery, worthy of noir novels or US crime films. The influence of the 7th art and his practice of photography is evident in his choice of framing, lighting and suggestive staging, giving us a painting that is at once subversive, vulnerable and gentle... A delicate touch, inherited from Pre-Raphaelite painting, a dynamism borrowed from the Impressionists; Arnaud De Jesus Gonçalves' repertoire draws its inspiration from the work of his 19th-century predecessors. Active on city walls as well as in his studio, he now deploys his unique universe in Europe, the United States and even Mexico, but remains attached to Montpellier where he has been living and working for twelve years now.</p><p>Theme:<br>‘On a balmy late afternoon in September 1944, as golden light bathed the streets of Mons, a metallic roar sounded in the distance. The American tank ‘Fish N Chips’ was moving slowly forward, imposing, in the midst of the astonished onlookers. Aboard it, an American soldier, his face covered in dust but smiling triumphantly, had just liberated the town from the last enemy forces. Two children joined him in an atmosphere of new-found peace and the promise of a better future. ’</p>
